Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Lisboa at Rua do Forno do Tijolo 9A, Thank You Mama is a cozy café and restaurant that has quickly become a beloved spot for those craving quality coffee and thoughtfully crafted dishes. While distinctly rooted in the café culture, this lively venue offers a refined yet relaxed dining atmosphere that invites you to linger—whether for a quiet morning or a casual lunch.
The heart of Thank You Mama's appeal undeniably lies in its exceptional coffee menu. If you are a coffee enthusiast, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice with their expertly prepared brews like the Big Flat White, an indulgent Filter Coffee that sings with rich, nuanced flavors, or the velvety Capuccino with Oat Milk that perfectly balances robust espresso with creamy non-dairy milk. Even non-coffee aficionados will appreciate the thoughtfully curated alternatives such as the earthy Matcha Latte and the aromatic Chai Latte, alongside fresh-pressed juices and sparkling drinks including kombucha and lemonade.
The kitchen embraces a delightful array of breakfast and light lunch fare that complements the beverages beautifully. Start your day with a warmly toasted Bagel Sandwich or indulge in the creamy delight of a Bagel with Cream Cheese. For a fresher, lighter option, the Salmon Bagel with its delicate layers of smoked salmon and avocado is a highlight praised frequently by guests. The English Breakfast here is another satisfying choice, perfect for those craving a hearty classic.
Sweet tooths are particularly well catered for at Thank You Mama. Their signature Cherry Pie is a joyous celebration of vibrant, juicy cherries nestled in tender pastry—an experience that many diners have referred to as pure happiness on a plate. Other tempting treats include the moist Banana Bread, the nutty crunch of the Maple Syrup and Nuts Cookie, and the decadently creamy Cheesecake. Each pastry is crafted with care, making them perfect companions to the café’s robust espresso or a silky flat white.
The ambiance here enhances everything: warm, inviting, and brimming with cozy charm. Customers speak fondly of the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, with one reviewer highlighting the “chill vibe” that makes it ideal for working or simply unwinding. The décor is adorable yet understated, creating a space that feels both intimate and lively—perfect for solo coffee enthusiasts, friends catching up, or remote workers seeking inspiration.
Thank You Mama’s blend of exquisite coffee, thoughtfully prepared food, and a genuinely friendly vibe come together to create more than just a meal—it’s a heartfelt experience. Whether you’re savoring the painstakingly timed pour-over that brings out the coffee’s richest notes or tucking into their homemade cherry pie packed with joy, you’ll feel the passion and care infused in every detail. This spot stands out as a true gem in Lisbon’s café scene, resonating with anyone who values quality, warmth, and authenticity in equal measure.
It's a very pleasant place with a great atmosphere and good service There isn't much of a menu selection, so after 2-3 days of breakfast, you'll want something new... Prices are definitely above average. Very nice place
Absolutely the best cappuccino in Lisbon! The coffee is rich and perfectly balanced, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Special thanks to Timur — the best barista in the city, always friendly and truly passionate about coffee.
Fantastic coffee! Prepared with real care- pour over coffee is weighed and timed and you can taste it! Delicious. Also if you like a latte- perfectly steamed milk (I had oat and it was wonderful) I can imagine cappuccino is done just as well. Really nice atmosphere-adorable decorations. Friendly staff. Can’t recommend more highly. Thank you so much to the staff there this morning.
A very cozy place; I stopped in for lunch. Excellent filter coffee, amazing potato waffles with salmon and avocado, the homemade cherry pie was wonderful
Thank You Mama is such a gem! The space has a chill vibe that’s perfect for working or just hanging out, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Lisbon to grab a great cup and get things done.
The coffee was really good, and the amount they give to you, cost-benefit is great. The pancakes are also good but they could be too much for one person, but you can ask for take away if you are not able to finish them, also they could be really sweet.
Nice cafe organised by the expats. Good quality coffee with an average price across the Lisbon’s specialty coffee places. Tasty cheesecake (not NY type) and cherries pie. Yes, Eastern European service style is different from South European. But you have a choice and believe me that some Spanish or Portuguese cafes may surprise you too. My single complaint will be that servicing pies when drinks are half finished is an improvement opportunity ;)
